Harrison Roach // Black Rain - video
Even though he's a leading proponent of the ride 'em all movement it's rare to see Harrison Roach on anything other than a fish or log. Who knows, maybe he gets about on a stickered up 5'10" Thruster when the cameras aren't rolling? Though I'm not sure why he'd bother, fella is doing just fine on the alt craft he's chosen, and this here vid is a testament to his skill.
Roach is surfing an on-the-rocks righthander in Java while riding a Thomas Bexon-shaped fish. Not the first board I'd reach for in these waves but he clearly ain't hampered. Take the drop at the the 2:00 minute mark, which warrants a good WTF...or maybe not so much WTF but HTF? It's a solid effort.
Whole vid has a majestic vibe. Well paced too. Stop what you're doing, go full screen, and immerse yourself.

Far out that was good.
Sick clip, moody as fark and to have the different vibe from perfect and pumping to more windy, raw and raining was great to see!
how he didn't fall off after getting peter north'd by that first wave ill never know.
Hahahaha...
Bet there's plenty of laughing in private but public denial of the meaning of that comment.
any male between the age of 25-50 that claims they don't understand is lying.
South of No North. Ain't that a Bukowski title?
Sick waves, sick tube style, sick board, sick clip
Sick bro
Peter North'd? Nah, I'm 55, out of my age bracket.
I'm with you Craig, moody as, and great piece of music that adds to it. I do love a stormy surf, they seem to stick in the mind more than most. All that raw energy, makes you feel small and part of it all at the same time.
Sweet.
And urban dictionary comes to the rescue, pun intended.
That guy was a star young gun from up around Noosa I think. Can surf a couch.
