In a month just gone in which we commemorated the 50th anniversary of the passing of one of my boyhood surfing heroes, Bobby Brown, it was fitting to screen a brief tribute to Bobby, and to another hero of mine who left us way too soon - Kevin Parkinson - at a Swellnet-sponsored book launch at Sandon Point. 

The audience at the Sandon surf club seemed to appreciate my memories of growing up in the Gong in the 1960s, taken from my new book, Life Of Brine. Hope you do too. //PHIL JARRATT
