Since he left the Quiksilver stable, Dane Reynolds media exposure has dwindled. There was a burst of attention around the release of Chapter 11 and then again when he got locked up in Portugal, but the newly promoted captain of industry isn't being drip fed to the masses as he once was.

So far, laying low hasn't affected his business; unofficial reports say Former's first line sold out despite zero marketing budget (no trad ads) and no distribution deal (it could only be bought from the Former online store). Clearly its success is riding on the persona of Dane and Ando but the surf industry is like social media: If you're not posting do you even exist? Subtlety ain't good for sales.

So maybe that's why Mini Blanchard has re-uploaded this clip of Dane from 2012? A sly reminder that Dane is still relevant.

Or maybe he just did it on a whim?
