Eddystone Drone - video
Drones, eh? Every day I swear off them, "No more drone videos!" only to dodge that edict when a flash new clip crosses my desk showing an old wave in a new light (from a new height?)
This time 'round it's Eddystone Rocks down at Pedra Branca, thirty kilometres off the Tassie coast. Not strictly an 'old' wave but between Storm Surfers and the Tassie lads we've seen plenty of vision of it - but only from sea level.
It's a rare day there's no wind down there. Rarer still to have big waves and blue skies, so Stu Gibson must have been grinning as he twiddled his thumbs to capture this imagery.

the right off that island in the distance, work's, & crack's, you can even surf it when it's small too! but, it was very, very crowded when i was there.
Amazing footage ,would love to see more of that giant big wave break .
The way the swell retracts onto that huge reef dome is mysteriously massive and one of the most remote xxl waves on the planet .
"the right off that island in the distance, work's, & crack's, you can even surf it when it's small too! but, it was very, very crowded when i was there." - lukas obviously knows as much about pedra as he does about the swell and wind conditions @ the proposed artificial reef site in sth tassie - i.e. nada, nix, zero, doughnut, zilch.......
i was a deck hand on a crayfishing boat down there before the internet champ, suck it up a go & have a look for your self. by crowed i mean hundreds of seals & white pointers.

im glad tamashanta was'nt at 10 foot when they tried that
Have sucked up your other comments Lukas but not sucked in......have myself explored and surfed the coast from south west cape to trial by boat over the years so am not devoid of experience in these seas ........was actually referring to your "wave after wave, day after day" Park Beach misinformation from previous post - clearly prone to exaggeration so all we really know is you use the internet to spin lines that don't have a basis in fact
if you have been to Port davey... then you are a champ.. hands down
goofy explorer, hold your breath, did you mention you surfing, tell me more, sound's very interesting
well goofy explorer you did not mention the south coast, which mean's you have not been to pedra blanca. referring back to the "wave after wave," i am saying, 2 to 3 foot lines roll into clifton & dodges ferry every day & close out. its a waste. don't get upset about it & bag me out
