Swellnet Dispatch

"This short film is the second of two featuring Dave Rastovich testing a Bing Sunfish model shaped by Matt Calvani of Bing Surfboards. In this film, Dave is riding a longer version of the Sunfish he rides in the first release. The longer Sunfish draws similar fish lines as the shorter version, but with better control in bigger waves."

I don't really know, but to me all the boards Dave Rastovich ride seem to hold him back from really going hard at a turn. The guy can rip on these boards but imagine if he was on a deep concave MC or a Simon Anderson board. Just my opinion.

Yes, agree. If you look at his last wave, he lost his line. Was it board or him ? Sometimes sponsorship can hold you back.

1st section? Angaz on a south swell? He's making it look hard, certainly not a selling point for most.
I reckon it looks a bit better in the Kirra and Lennox sections. But far out if anyone's ridden twinnies like that in bigger down the line stuff will know how hard it is to reign them in………..not many can with style: Rasta, Asher Pacey

I reckon he'd be throwing heaps more spray if it were a thruster or quad

Yep he looked like he was nursing those turns and that is a really fishy twin looked like it was trying to skip out on those big cut backs. Fast through the sections though. I love twinnies but I would be pulling the thruster out for those waves too big and down the line. Man's got to know his limitations.

Looks sticky.Maybe not a great board. He doesn't seem to have the same issues on other twins.

Agree with hall of the above, Rasta could surf anything and make it look good. Fishes are fun but I aren't a huge fan myself. Looks like all of his turns are pulled back and it all about adjusting his style to suit the lack of projection the board provides thru its turns. The retro thing is a bit of a scene and good luck to those whom enjoy it but Ill stick with conventional boards and just go to flatter rockers and more volume to handle sluggish waves.
