Steph Gilmore, Inside The Tempest - video
"It’s hard to go past Indonesia for a strike mission in the middle of the liturgical year. We scoured the archipelago from the comfort of our office chairs in search of a wave that compliments Steph’s particular set of skills. Steph was after “cute slabs” – the definition of which you’ll discover in due course—and while we weren’t blessed with days of waves, the one day of money was well worth the wait, and near-death experience of the boat ride back to base. Here’s two days on a leaky boat through the rose-tinted specs of the eternally peppy, Miss Stephanie Gilmore."

Nicely shot and wow a piano epic to with it!
That was pretty good. The womens tour should do an Indo comp.
Shes got it all going on ,whats not to like......except it was so much better with no sound.
I liked the Piano Simba
Something a little different. Very enjoyable.
I recognised the piece straight away, Ravel, my wife plays it
The piano was atmospheric for the first 30 seconds but by 60 seconds it was driving me crazy and i had to mute the volume.
This video makes me want to surf and smash pianos.
Haha
I'm with you ID.. I enjoyed the track to begin with, but then it started to grate after a while.
Incredible surfing though. Steph is one of my favourite surfers, such a smooth style, drawing really nice lines.
those legs
At times her styling looked very similar to when she rode that single fin in Spirit of Akasha. Always love watching Steph surf. Lots of beautiful lines alright :)
Dream girl. Most stylish surfer in world at moment - I'm calling it
You guys with your piano hating.
Epic clip
The piano is great I closed my eyes and just listened to the clip the second time. Who am I kidding some of the best clips are of Steph surfing you can see the joy she gets out of it.
The marketing of this epic woman is spot on. You rock and your style is majestic and the sound track beautifully suits the lines on the wave you draw.
Agreed. Steph's surfing and the way she presents herself is so much more appealing than Sally 'everywhere' Fitzgibbon.
would've been better with some birds of tokyo or frenzal. That piano is shit!!
Wow, that was good and then I saw the name Jon Frank and thought yep typical.
The surfing and waves were good that barrel she got was epic, but i actually felt a bit depressed after it for about half an hour or so even though i muted the volume.
I think it might have been the fact my parents made me do piano lessons as a kid, and i hated it, i never realised until now how much i hate the sound of the piano, i never hear piano music and it stirred up all these horrible feelings.
Ripping. Slater says some nice words about Steph on Monster Children
I'm the opposite Indo. I wish i had kept music up. I'm hopeless and when i listen to my wife practice and hear how beautifully she plays, I'm amazed at how some people can channel something so beautiful through their fingers. I'm quite envious of her ability but she's been playing since she was about 5 (and boy is she tired- boom tish!)
One of my most favourite things is nodding offf for an arvo nap while my wife is practicing in the background.
and to get back on track, I love how Steph is just smiling all the time- loving life. Awesome.
Steph and Jon Frank - beautiful.
She is a joy to watch, and when her timing is right, few other surfers come close.
I, too, wish I could play the piano. Loved listening to my wife play, but whenever I "practiced" our vizsla would start howling to the moon.
She's a beautiful soul alright, and her boyfriends a lucky man...and I like that board she's riding ...what's that model...smooth as...
Think I read she's on the DHD Dux Nuts model
Quality head-high righthand point style waves and Steph are always a sublime combination. I loved the music, Ravel's 'Jeux d'eau', which you can translate as 'Play of water'.
She's a sweet soul. Music was great too. Piano haters, bah humbug.
Sublime. Has anyone else seen Frank's companion piece with Derek Hynd, utterly rudder-less, exact same location, exact same wetsuit, but with Tognetti on his special instrument playing T. Baker's opus "Spunk" accompanying the stunning mise-en-scène?
