Norway to Nihiwatu - video

Swellnet Dispatch

A journey across the hemisperes to two places that have nothing in common with each other, except they start with the letter 'N'...and they also have waves.

This short film, narrated by Asher Pacey, is more about the waves and less about the spelling.

Excellent. I was trying to work out if AP was riding the twinnie on his backhand or did it have a stabiliser in the back. The latter me thinks. Slowly getting used to mine just need to have your back leg bent and lean forward a bit more ala the maestro AP. The rewards are worth it in speed and manoeuvrability.

Ahhh.... a respectful copy of it by a local master shaper. Great board particularly on point style waves up to 4 foot.

You got it in one. The rep' who handles DHD couldn't believe how good it was and was a trifle pissed off. Not as though Bean is raking in the dollars poor bugger is on the bones of his bum and he has only made the one for me thus far. Yep in the landscape industry.

Yeah he knows how to shape for sure. I might have to have a chat to him about one. I realise Asher freakin rips on anything but those boards look insane!
If I contact you on Insta reckon you could send a couple pics of the board through?

No problem. I think it is on Bean's insta can't remember. Definitely give Bean a ring his boards are great and cheaper than the big names. It goes unreal I have had the best barrel of my life on it due to the speed and the swooping turns are sensational. Mick F is loving his as well although he surfs it just a wee bit better than me.

They are a surf travel company.

It's the reason they went there.

Nihiwatu is a long way from being a secret, there have been big spreads in just about every single mag I can think of. However it's not far from other secrets.

Hey Stu, is this a fitting time for me to ask if you could pleeeeeease start doing forecast notes for Europe? one every 2 weeks will do ;)

(I'll sign up for swellnet pro in a heartbeat hehe)

How accurate do you think it would be erik? I find the forecast is usually a bit out for ne uk, put it down to local conditions being quite variable and hard to predict. Take today, forecast says its 1ft but it's 2-3, it's difference between not worth it and worth it at this time of year.

When you say forecast are you referring to the computer generated models in the forecast display?

The forecast notes are Craig/ Stu's own wise words of what to expect, and often will tell you that the model is showing 1ft but it'll actually be 2-3ft...and/or inconsistent...and so on and so forth...

I found the forecast notes extremely helpful when i was living in oz, in both scoring good waves and understanding how it all worked. After reading them for a while i could start making my own calls and score uncrowded good waves..

Huge fan of the forecast notes haha!

Yeah the forecast notes are handy in oz and the writers know that part of the world well, id imagine forecasting whats going to be happening in the north sea would be a different proposition. Anyway not sure the promise of 2 extra subscribers will be enough to swing it mate.

Now there is an idea for you Ben. Expand, even if only for a few hits. I am sure there would third party forecasters in UK you could rely on. Why not your servers are in the US and you are very AUS centric.
