Northern Beaches drone - video
Swellnet recently ran a drone video from Steve Maxwell shot at Narabeen during a big east swell. What was immediately apparent in that clip is that Steve knows how to fly his li'l eagle; rather than merely using it as a heightened vantage point he lets it off its tether to roam high and low. You'll see it in this clip too, which is a showreel of his, the tight tracking shots that follow the surfer almost at eye level. Wonderul stuff.
Then there's the surfers: Tom Carroll, Barton Lynch, Dave Vlug, and a host of northside talent including a frisky pack of dolphins. Everybody loves dolphins.

Apart from Otters, Dolphins have to be just about the coolest animals on the planet.

Best drone footage i've seen so far...that dude has it nailed..sik
By far the best drone footage I've seen so far - there is a size reference throughout so the viewer can relate to whats going on. The surfers are not little specs with no size reference as is usually the case. Well done Steve keep developing :)
It ain't easy getting that front on shot wth a drone. Good mix of angles.
Thanks folks for the overwhelming positive responses. Stoked to get such awesome feedback. I'm always trying to come up with that different angle and put a lot of hours of flying in to do so which means sometimes missing out on getting shacked myself. But that's ok because I love what I do. Anyone who wants to get a sesh filmed wether it be with the drone 800mm or from the water or all combined, give me a call or email for a quote.
