Winki from above - video

It's a late arvo launch over Winki, the colours of the firmament softening and heading toward the violet end of the spectrum. The first punter racing down the line is Dekka Hynd oscillating wildly, followed by others looking for a lengthy one down the valley before the sun gets too low to navigate the rock platform.

Footage by Mike Carter-Key filmed last weekend.

I can't believe all the drop ins! Then again it's happening everywhere now. Gone are the days of respect and sharing.

A few of the drop ins looked like because the punters were taking off too deep and not making the wave a couple of others were just poor form.

Hope we don't see too many drones in the sky or I'm going to start a drone hunters club and get a new air rifle. The lands crowded enough lets leave the sky alone.

Does a drone need to be in line of sight to control it?

So good to see how stunning the coast and water are from above and how awesome the surfers are. Really enjoyed seeing this perspective . Great filming thanks for posting this .

Nice pick up. Not often I get to reference Moz while writing about surfing so I'll jump at any opportunity.
