Asher Pacey // Rolling Stoned - video

Swellnet Dispatch

Watch Asher take the high line, drop and switch through the gears, then spin his twinny on a dime. This clip, which is Part 8 of Rhythm's 'The Sound of Change Experience' web series is some of the better surfing we've seen in a while. "Required viewing" says Swellnet's bank of critics.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the board he's riding. I've always been curious...

Rhythm have him on lock as I understand it but I can't help think he brought something "new" to the pointbreaks of Cali in the hopes of loosening a few USD free somewhere. Am I wrong?

Geez he surfs those twinnies well. I am OK up to 3 foot once I gets a bit more serious I struggle big time. His feet are a lot closer together than your average surfer these days as I suppose getting air isn't the major priority. From my experience this works better and if you look at old shots of MR he was the same: Closer together in the back half of the board and he doesn't try to overpower it. They are great at keeping flow, momentum and speed, a lot of fun in smaller waves. Real work in progress for me however the modern ones are heaps better than the old barges I surfed back in the day, 3 inch thick V bottom chunks of foam. Love to see him in some seriously solid stuff on a twinnie going backhand!

pretty nice but that board still seems to jam up or stop half way through a turn and he needs to release the pressure to start it up again.

nice on your forehand.....probably a horror show on your backhand.
