Snapper on Sunday - video
It was a frustrating few days for Queensland surfers. No sooner had the lines from TC Victor made landfall they were being torn apart by a northerly wind. The timing was atrocious.
Yet an approaching southerly change on the weekend swung their fortunes; the lines cleaned up, the sun came out, and the points started to pump.
This vid is from the midday session yesterday.

WTF Mick
Ol Bloke Blue boardies ....Uncle Darryl P ?
what are the odds of getting through Feb with no major storm and the bank being in that condition for the QuikPro?
Nice of Mick to call past & 'drop in' to say g'day....
Surfed there late sunday arvo, what a mistake....worst drop in session i've ever been in the water for + a s**tload of kooks, Superbank is only good once it gets over 6ft as it spreads out the crowd & keeps the novices at bay
I just hope they get another flat spell for the quik pro like last year.
snappernet.com? Wonder if there could be a swell that goes by without a vid of snapper being posted?
We don't tee up the videographers Staitey. They film wherever they want.
Yeah obviously. I guess as much as a gripe from myself being sick of seeing too many snapper clips its probably a call out to videographers and you guys to show a little more Australian variety. Obviously there's areas that you're not going to post but I can think of at least a dozen populated well known spots that it'd be great if people could share footage from….
……saying that great to see some Sunny Coast, Nth NSW stuff
More footage of sensitive locations please, Ben. ;)
if you believe the Hype lostdoggy, the Snapper discovery is old news... the new superbank is on the sunnycoast and its even already got a swarming mass of kooks to boot!
haha, I know it's not a secret spot and never was, but the amount of people on social media going out of their way to say which break it is astounds me.
Is that just Qld culture?
My guess is that the tossers on social media (ie: those who either name dropped or commented "Where's that?") probably reassured themselves it is ok to blow its location because it was packed, so no need to worry about hiding its identity. In reality the whole coast from Noosa to Bribie were stuck for places to surf out of the wind so it was the clearest option, 40kms worth of mad keen coasties all chasing the leading edge of the swell all turned up at the same spot.
Watched Mick burn one guy after another.Possibly the worst display of greed Ive ever seen.Total kook.
