Old mate cops an absolute burning whilst slotted inside a clean Burleigh barrel. And the next bloke on the wave behind gets done too! Video thanks to Salt Road.
He at least deserved a clear shot at it on face value.
Based on comments from past threads in a similar vain re QLD points, it seems to be totally acceptable & fast becoming the new norm. Sad state of affairs for surfings one sacred unwritten rule IMO.....

Yeah if it was me on the shoulder I would give the guy the benefit of the doubt. Even though he essentially didn't make it, that asshole is paddling full steam with blinkers on way before you could tell what was going to happen in that section.

Ahh Queensland. Dropping in one day - still doing it the next. Nothing's changed the past 40 yrs.

Time to square up, a growl, me thinks. Geez Burleighs banks are looking good.

hahaha, that was me the long-boarder burnt... My first 5 minutes of fame for 2016!
I made a swellnet post (frothing, stoked, sick), i'm going to buy a new board now as my froth level has hit boiling point.

Looks like you got a good view of old mate on the wave behind you. Great backhand style...

Shane Martin - yep whoever he is, he can drag his bum when he needs to. There's a close up view on some other **unnamed** forecast sight.

you win some you loose some? It definitely looked like he would've made it, having said that his legs would've been like jelly by that stage so good luck to the wanker who snaked him.

on second thoughts i just saw the clip again.... old mate hadn't been in the tube that long really. I suppose thats the price you pay surfing places on the east coast. The bloke pig dogging the tube at the end of the clip probably would have to much to complain about though.
