Win a surf trip with Asher and Ry
Wanna join Ry Craike and Asher Pacey for a week in the South Oz desert? Swellnet and BF Goodrich are giving away a week of surfing and fishing at Yorke Peninsula for one lucky punter and their mate, with all flights, car hire, accomodation, food and Coopers paid for.
Asher is a natural footer from Australia's east coast. Currently living in Coolangatta, he puts his wiry frame to good use on the local points applying impeccable technique and an economy of movement. Asher often rides twin fins and has the uncanny ability of putting his alternative equipment into high performance positions. He loves to fish and loves a barbeque.
Ry is a goofy footer from Australia's west coast. Hailing from Kalbarri, he's a product of his heaving hometown ledges, fearless from takeoff and always looking for the end section punt. Ry is either sitting deep in the pit or flying over the lip, but either way he gets it done with a minimum of fuss. He loves to fish and loves a barbeque.
BF Goodrich are looking for someone to come on a surf trip and balance the opposites of Ry and Asher, except for the fishing and barbeques – those bits are already sorted. The trip is from the 25th to 29th of January and tagging along will be photographer Ed Sloane and videographer Sam Norwood.
Sounds like your kinda surf trip? This competition finishes in just over a week (6th December) so get entering. Click here for more details.

Asher Pacey and Mason Ho. Favorite surfers to watch at the moment.
Hope you win Barley.
Surely he's already on board as official surf guide and climate specialist?!
What a fucking sell out! Bf good who? Aren't they a fucking tyre company? Shame on you SN.
Would you feel more comfortable if a surf brand were presenting the trip?
This may be news to you, but non-surf brands have been active in this space for a long time. Samsung, Jeep, GoPro, Carlton Dry and Corona all sponsor WSL events. There are many other brands who sponsor other facets of surfing. Without their support, we wouldn't be able to provide the service that we do.
Ah, and ... WEETBIX, don't forget WEETBIX!
I'm sure you're trolling prawn, because, well, ya know the fuss made over the Mick and JW interview and the REDBULL promotional merchandise issue ... so ya know there ARE non surf brands using surfing as part of their marketing strategy.
IMHO, and well the whole $0.02 worth of it ... it's great non surf brands want to use surfing in their marketing strategy. Wouldn't it be great to see the Kleenex "claim" award at every event, or even the "huggies" award for lowest heat score at events like chopes and pipe.
Why are they saying SA desert yorks peninsula ? Is yorks a desert ?
Just the way the words flowed, Camel. Technically, none of the SA coast falls under the classifiation of a 'desert' but for all intents and purposes (i.e. majority of Swellnet users), Yorkes has a similar landscape to that of the West Coast.
For chicks. How's your neck of the woods? A man's not a proverbial.
More of a desert than coolangatta i guess?, a twin fin will rip chinamans i reckon, heaps puntable end sections for rye too, cant wait to win and bbq with da boys. Do I need to bring my own rod?
Gary's got this one in the bag
Someone's gotta say it, Gary G v Uplift. You know you want it!
I'm all ova it!!
Goodluck at that time of year..at least there will be a few ladies around (we hope)
When Mick Campbell and Mick Lowe came down for a surf trip back in the early 2000's the Surfing Life exposé labeled it The Desert Coast. I think they were just being cryptic so as not to reveal the location. But it's hardly a secret these days.
I'd like to see Asher and Craikey score a macking Ledge swell like the two Mick's did back then!
Ry on his forehand would be putting on a clinic out there and to see Asher attempt to surf it riding one of those fat twin fins could be entertaining?
Not saying he couldn't pull it off but I recall Micky Campbell was riding a brand new Hawaiin shaped Pat Rawson gun on the big day and snapped it on his first wave.
If there's no waves there's always the fishing? Man sized Blue Fin Tuna can be caught in the waters surrounding the South Western tip of the Yorke peninsula!
Good luck to them.
Give the people what they want Swellnet!
We could turn it into a multi-staged event - One legged squat contest, sharpest definition of 'Elite' as it applies to professional athletes, most blemish free spray tan, Sickest facey, the list goes on. Hopefully Ry would give me an invite to come surf Gary's point up at his hometown.
And with all those land based events, we'd be working hard to even get in the water!
This could really take your web-stats to the next level.
