After two CT wildcards, one of which landed him a 5th place, Jay Davies is in an improbable position, sitting higher on the rankings than many surfers who earnt their place through qualification. You can't begrudge him though, Davies is a surfer's surfer throwing his bulk around in the big stuff and staying nimble in the air. Plus he's a humble fella to boot.
