Ma & Pa Bendall Kneeboard
On the Easter weekend the Ma & Pa Bendall, one of Australia's longest running surf contests, was held at Moffatts Beach on the Sunshine Coast. The Ma & Pa Bendall features a kneeboard division which was sponsored by Michael Watkins of Nee Pro Kneeboards. With Moffs dishing up consistent 3-4 foot waves it was a closely fought affair.
The final was won by local kneelo, Gary Slater, who edged out Matt Gallagher by a lone point. 'Bushy' came thrd and Kevin Ross from Vicco placed fourth.
The first photo features Michael Watkins from Nee Pro Kneeboards. The second is of Matt Gallagher - missed out on first place but scored a photo on Swellnet! The other photos are of winner, Gary Slater, and the finalists receiving prizes and making speeches. Photo by Gus.

I remember the Ma & Pa Bendall contest back in early 70's Lopez and Rory Russell I think turned up... they had met Ma & Pa when they visited Hawaii late 60's. I think MP won it or Richard Harvey... PT, Keith Paull, Rabbit all surfed in it back then
