Watch: Nathan Florence // 13 Barrels From 13 Waves
In 2023, the middle Florence bro dubbed his travels the Slab Tour and checked in at many of the great top heavy waves around the world.
Not sure about his maths, but this clip is the best of his POV footage the year, featuring waves from all those different locations.

Possibly the best go pro vid ive seen.... great quality footage from inside the tube.......
Shark Island for the win.
and the winner for me is..... Shipsterns paddle. And he started the year in Jan with a broken back at Jaws.Filipe who?
How’s the reef at The Box? Holy shit.
A wee bit heavier than trestles! Geez that was shallow.
idk why ppl feel the need to bash filipe/non-tubing wave surfing. we get it, you like watching psycho tube-fests (as do i), but don't fkn discredit the technical arsenal dudes like filipe bring to waves like trestles - it's just a different type of surfing, ya dinguses.
Kinda I think it’s more we can’t imagine Filipe on a lot/all of those waves, whereas say other world champs 100% could do it. Medina and Italo both technical geniuses both could also do what Nathan does if they chose. I reckon everyone wants Filipe to charge but it’s just not happening
Very strong masseters on the lad.
sadly that was likely more tube time than I've had in my lifetime
Ha ha! The fucker, I was thinking the same. Russ Bierke vid too.
Some mighty fine tube wrangling in amongst that lot. Great POV shots.
Agree on the shark Island call. That's a big bulbous wide beautiful tube..plus bonus points for lighting. Great vid.
I saw this yesterday and thought it was totes wow. The visual is top shelf, and how funny is the slow mo sound effects. #vicariouslife
so many huge pits. what a treat
Madness.
And how's the shark at 3:02?
thanks for pointing that out ib.....stop it on 3.01......looks like a pointer
Wow!
In the wave face then goes under him
looks like the lip is creating a shadow on the wave face, not a shark imho
Good call and great pick up Jamyardy, it's most likely the lip reflection...but jeez if it wasn't it's a dead ringer for a pointer.
Give that man an Oscar, sublime trip around the world.
Love his approach, uses socials and YouTube to fund the dream, touring the worlds best waves with his mrs and a few mates, having enough time to explore and enjoy each location. Seems to keep it fairly lowkey wherever he surfs and doesn't need to put on an act for the camera. No worries about injuries, competition results, sponsors. Pro surfing completed.
Yep - The desk top internet expert part of my brain reckons Ive got all those waves sussed now...Im gonna charge Pipe!!!!! How hard can it be?
But seriously - that both inspires me to go tube hunting - and hurts my soul as I stare at the next 2 week forecast on the surf coast....2 - 4 ft and howling onshore mess....aaaaagghhhhhhhh!!!!!
As the great T Ray said after winning at barreling Hossenger " a tube ride isn't a manoeuvre you just pick your line and go straight".
He doesn't need sunscreen always in the shade. Brilliant footage, I ducked a few times.
