Watch: Torren Martyn // Distant Shore
Torren and Ishka have teamed up yet again. It's not a 'Lost Track' instalment, rather a return to a zone they'd visited before to escape the Aussie summer.
And escape they did, with air temps dropping to -7°, and water between 5° and 7°.
Says Torren:
"Ishka and I had our eyes on that area for a month or so prior to going just trying to make a little sense of it really. It can be so fickle and the weather is so changeable, especially in mid-winter. I’ve actually never seen weather move so fast and aggressive like it does in that part of the world so it was really hard to predict. We kind of just went with a gut feeling, knowing there was no real shortage of swells we just crossed our fingers for some nice little wind windows."
It's only twelve minutes long, and as always, Murray Paterson and Headland provide the original, improvised toons. Press play, up the volume and fill the screen, then sit back and enjoy.

The møøse look very cold.
Jokes aside (anyone get the reference?) I love these films, great surfer/settings/music/edits, top stuff.
Beautiful film great surfing, he would be better off on a good bodyboard rather than that blow up thing though. Dont know why inflatables are so much cooler than bodyboards in many films and attitudes.
Bodyboards work.
Not as nice to sleep on?
Incredible video as always from these two blokes.
Agreed about the surf mat, I have ridden them before and they do provide a unique glide but I wouldn't be seen dead on one of those nowadays as I wouldn't want to be associated or give a single cent to the Women Bashing Scum Mark Thomson who makes them.
Great video nonetheless and rant over.
Ive seen clips of Mats going faster than anything else in the lineup, can anyone confirm or explain this?
Thinking of making a triple stringer twin haha
Notice this board seemed to be a bit twitchier turned better on size back foot spent more time back also.
Ishka really sets the standard framing it all and Torren is so good to watch, loved the clip.
Too cold for me .. hats off to ya good clip
Jeez these guys make some dreamy clips. That wedge looked like so much fun.
I felt cold and stiff watching the opening scenes. By the time the credits rolled I felt as limber as Torren looked in the tube and as warm as toast. Thank you to all involved. Unreal.
Masters of their craft. Thanks for that.
PS - @ velocityjohnno: well played, I got it. Not sure, maybe the mööse are used to that climate?
amazing, Terrance Malick meets surfing
Wow.. these guys live don't they
