Watch: Southern Wild Life
Been a wild old winter over west with lots of swell and lots of weather too.
Last weekend saw another large swell with the storm that delivered it riding just south enough to make open ocean spots accessible. It was a margin call, the weather was still remarkably wild, but surfers such as Chris Ross, Ollie Henry, Chris Shanahan, and Zac Haynes whipped in between the wind squalls.

...whoops.
Interesting new camera angle of the Right. Shows how short the wave actually is. Not many of those riders were in the barrel.
Some damn brave guys that backdoor that thing. The explosions from the lip are huge.
Really enjoyed that. Magic bit of coastline even in the middle of winter.
Particularly in the middle of winter I reckon. Rug up and find yourself a lonely stretch of windswept coast to scour for waves and sea borne treasures which may wash upon the shore. Best you GTFO after a few weeks though lest the grey sky ceiling overwhelms you.
Nice pairing of music and vision.
100%, great tune. Interesting perspective of the wave too.
Rawness refined.
Excellent.
Goose bumps a plenty, from both vision and music.
Looks like OB on the cook. Friggin cold from the inlet
loved that "risky' music - underground royalty surfing Right there - or, cementing established reputations, depending on your lense.
The spit and foam ball would blow you and your board into oblivion. Need to have top notch safety setup, jet ski assist, safety vest to survive these dangerous conditions.
and only half the world knew there was a rare right hand point in the south west until now, well done instagramers locals (and all the new "locals") of the great southern! would have thought they should have learnt from exposure mistakes made n the past ...
The big thing you learn from studying history is that mankind doesn't learn from history.
