Watch: Ulus Bommie and OC
Wednesday morning on the Bukit and it's pumping. Not only is it one of the biggest swells of the season thus far, it's also hitting with a lot of westerly bias making the the broad Ulus lineup even harder to decipher.
The afternoon brought a falling tide and the Outside Corner allows a degree of pattern recognition for those with the right equipment.
PS: Last wave, from wide stinkbug stance, to ten foot layback, to winning try wardance, the fella does it all.

Epic!!
What a joy raw footage is, paddle in to kick out, beautiful.
looked both completely fun and a total ball-ache getting caught inside.
how was old mate throwing his hands up in exasperation when caught inside.
That got the envy juices flowing.
How was poor old mate in the red shirt getting sucked over in the opening minute....we've all been there. And that was an interesting layback.
that last effort is definetely worth the watch,
cant work out if im mad, jealous or impressed
Same.
From laughing at his stance, to feeling sorry for getting dropped in on, to admiring that critical layback, to chuckling at his claim.
Roller coaster of a wave.
Best. Claim. Evah!
Yep, so good. Awesome claim. Awesome ride, in reality.
Was he wearing a full length steamer?
Love it-
And Bruninho Post Covid session
Old(?) fella on yellow tanker@ the bommie has had a few lately. Anyone know his back-story? Ditto for that last fella..started Ninja..went all Capoiera & signed off with Haka..who is this man of all nations?!
Is it banksy?
Its not Jim ...but Jim may have made his Shooter
Saw some footage the other week from Jim and others over in Sumbawa. Looked sick. He's still surfing well.
Mu (where that photo above was taken) is a cracking place to stay. Not cheap but must have one of the best views in Indo.
Loved that clip.
We’ve stayed at Mu a few times, and it totally worth it. Felt like a fraud when I walked in, but very soon got over it and just surrendered to the joy of it.
That yellow JBanks looks good - and of course Udo would dig it up!
Looks like Johny D. Aka bomby John
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I want to be there so much, glad those guys are revelling in it, nothing but admiration for the last bloke who seems to have just had the ride of his life.
I yearn for some big ulus, it will happen again, one day........................
Lucky bastards! (except the caught insides)
Looked a very doable big wave session with a few weeks fitness work preparation. Won't happen though for many reasons.
The Claim Dance is Legendary at .5 playback speed
Got my Wife laughing.....is he a Jap she asked...he moves his arms around like a Jap..
Love those tired arms trying to dive the step up at 0.25
Thought Indo was in lock-down?
Will be a even bigger circus when it opens up again.
A great watch, but my shoulders are aching in sympathy just watching.
Ol mates last wave .. drop in then a classic layback recovery.. had me in tears.. rode it well though..
Classic. I could watch that for hours...
The clip is deffo worthy of one of those promo headlines, 'WATCH TILL END'. Funny stuff.
funny how ol mate with the wide stance looks like he is shitting himself(literally)about to cop a lip on the head then relaxes the sphincter in to the casual layback like he cant see what's behind him..no wonder he claimed it so hard as 9 times out of 10 with that technique he would of been on the receiving end of an indian ocean enema..the tide or angle didn't look quite right for OC though..little bit fat on the shoulders and not sure if it required those very long boards some were riding...ive seen some waves at OC that still spin me out 10 years later and that kind of looked like it was just big enough to break properly and lacked the critical potential of this set up..still envious as though
Easy to see why some of you have such a deep hearted attraction to Ulus...
Yes a beautiful day,I'm stoked to be finally caught on film. That was me having my morning swim at about 1:35
Du du gong gong gong
Du du gong gong
They're strange animals aye. Kinda half seal half dolphin. First time I saw one was at Bingin. One popped up next to me and gave me a bit of a fright.
It feels like we’ll never be allowed back.
That last ride was farken' gold. Made my day.
https://m.
Water drone footage of funky dancer....
Can you imagine stroking into this Big Bumpy Fucker
All the above agree with. Is such a fun place and you need those beastie boards to paddle into them and paddle back out against the current. Hate those wide ones when your just about on them then all of a sudden it shuts down with you at the top. Hell paddle out and back to the line up.
Another view of old mate with the wild layback and Wolverine claim, plus many other entertaining moments:
Cute little barrel at 3:29, and then a solid bugger at 4:29.
Trust Bruno Santos to get barrelled off his nut:
