Watch: Jacob Willcox // Five Waves In The Desert
A two-minute clip from Scott Bauer that makes a statement. Two statements, in fact: the first is Jacob Willcox's uncanny talent, keeping it deep at this most dangerous of waves, and secondly is the music choice from Bauer to sum up the pandemic pandemonium.

That poor bastard stuck inside at 0:13.. not many scarier places to be
Worst place to be just where the wave detonates. Wearing wave of wave on the head surely drains your physical strength no matter how fit you are.
.
I’ve gone blank...what were the surf movies that had TSOL, Agent Orange, Abecedarians etc in them?
Jacob is really ripping now that he’s filled out and got some meat on his bones.
You're thinking of 'Surf Into Summer' and 'Filthy Habits'.
'Twas the inspiration for a thousand sleeveless TSOL shirts.
Sorry to be off topic here Stu, just taking the opportunity with an admin question for you, if I may ask please, what has happened to the edit option when composing a comment?
Also sorry if this has been already explained and I missed it.
God Bless you
The edit button will be resurrected, Servant.
It's taking a little longer than expected, but it'll be back - new and improved too!
Thank you Stu.
Ha ha, nice one, not just the '3 days' then
Right, one more... 3 barrels, 3 turns... done.
Haha last wave.. boom...out!
That third wave was a thing of absolute beauty, both the wave itself and the surfing ... I wonder why it was cut short.
Slowed down too much on one wave which put Jacob behind the section requiring Jacob to turn out on the flats. I am not a criticising just an observation from watching the footage. Surfing this wave is much harder than it looks.
I wonder what's going to happen to Jacob? He seems to be in that age where he's making the transition from juniors to opens when most pros are weighing up if they're going to take it seriously and follow the QS - except there is no QS.
Anyway, he seems to be handling the downtime fairly well.
Thanks for the clip Scott Bauer.
According to WSL 2021 QS rankings Chippo is ranked 5th for the Australia/Oceania region, putting him ahead of Julian Wilson and Ethan Ewing after the first three events they all entered.
