Early October: An unseasonal trade swell, a lack of northerlies, and a number of pros on call at the Straddie comp means primo Greenmount for the average punters.
Lot of bogged turns and baubles, lot of undisguised joy too.
That vid's almost enough for me to sell up and move the family up to the Goldie.....to become another face in the crowds.

That line up was as crowded as a strip of fly paper in an outback roadhouse.

The last wave at 3:15... great footage of two surfers in sync on back-to-back waves. Cool!

Nice to see punters in there as well as opposed to Mick and Joel etc. Gives me a much better sense of what it would be like to surf it.

I used to live up there @garryh. It's always busy, but on days like that there's heaps to go around. Plenty of average punters getting good waves. Just a different vibe, much more competitive, gotta hustle / hassle a bit more. You still get a few less crowded ones if you paddle out at dawn, although it seems much more sharky now than when I lived there so not sure how much I'd be up for the pre-dawn paddle...
