Yesterday the women were forced to complete Round 2 of the Roxy Pro in tiny waves at Snapper Rocks. It was a long way from Round 2 in 2014 when the women scored the best surf of the contest in a day heralded as a red letter day for women's surfing. Yeah, this year's forecast is grim, and yeah the commissioner has to do what the commissioner has to do, but yesterday's effort had a pre-2014 whiff to it. A throwback to the dirty days of unequal pay packets and surf quality. Here's hoping I'm wrong on that count.
