Any chance the Chilton Rocks (South Aus) webcam could be given a clean? Its really blurry. Thanks for the great site!

Actually, every single SA camera down South is blurred and unwatchable with salt spray ATM, 30/3/25. Surely the hosts could clean their cameras, as It's really disappointing to not use a service that I pay for. Camera cleaning poles can be bought for $100 and I regularly use one on cameras that I maintain.

Manually cleaning cameras under dry, howling onshore winds doesn't work.. they're salted up within ten minutes of being cleaned (I have been remotely cleaning our Torquay cams all morning, to no avail).

Also, our hosts do clean the cams when required but they're not always home. And not all cams can be easily reached either.

I'm heading back there in a few weeks time to finish off the remote cleaning systems we started to install in December. That should go a very long way to improving the cleanliness of our Victor cams.

Thanks for your patience.

I share your frustration as I maintain several cameras in Adelaide and know how quickly salt spray covers them! The SEers have been relentless and have been howling for days straight up to 25kts, so once cleaned, will be dirty within 24 hours. I guess a automated system is the best solution and Swellnet is not alone as Surfline, which I also subscribe to, has the same problem, ie, Chiton Rocks.
