Frequently being logged off
Hey Carpetman, unfortunately I don't have an immediate remedy for this as it's the first time we've heard about it (anyone else having the problem?).
Ben is away for a while but I'll get his attention and see if there's something short term that can be done to fix it for you.
Yep
And (no offence), yeh, you're site is pretty data heavy to load, so in isolated areas it compounds the problem
sypkan/carpetman...
I had similar experience after NBN. (Are you plugged in ready for changeover?)
With NBN the more disproportionate the layout the slower the loadtime.
e.g. Newspapers being the slowest. I wrote on exact same issue to ED of local paper.
I recommended Newspaper adopt a uniform 1800's slab layout to suit new medium.
Less scroll time/power/paper/cost = income friendly.(Business would scream for that?)
Swellnet also was taking forever to load & cutting out as well.(re: Comments odd spacing)
Same time www readers becoming subscribers were paying premium for NBN lockout.
Business/Customers/regulars equally paying the price for failed rollout.
1) Typing a comment woul wo would play catc catch u up likethis.
2) Before I'd finish comment I'd get timed out. Lose the lot! 3 x over...Drove me mad!
Soon after my Phone also started play in g up.("What!") I sai d the ph ne.. Nevermind!
Eventually no one could . . . . me! Telstra heard my screams & gave immediate assist.
Telstra confirmed the fault from their end. They tweaked it little by little...(Say when!)
All pages load fine now but phone is still cutting out a bit...(All hail the NBN)
NBN Neighbourhood node is fast at first but more connections slow your loadtime.
Further away from node slows the loadtime even more.
Real Estate Agents value Properties radiating out from NBN nodes. (Honey Pot)
Yes! We may well know this but it don't hurt to phone Telstra for line/node check.
Good luck crew!
Fellow slow loaderz entered...Network connection settings...then disabled IPv6
Get your creepy Geek to disarm the timebomb...Buy him a beer a house or new mouse.
[CAUTION] Mobile phone has never owned me . Be like crazy to pull the pin. IPv6 [ Live/Die ]
Sypkan....wondering if that might be a connection to the Internet issue......like in remote areas she just dropouts ??
Happened to me often crossing the Gibson desert...
Thanks truebluebasher and mr. Eyre.
No NBN for me, so yeh nah. But I must say thanks for your efforts. As others have stated, I truly aporeciate your contributions and writing style. I just wish you could make it easier to read, you usually lose me half way down unless I'm super interested.
Not sure mr. Eyre. It seems to happen in good and bad zones.
Hi team
I still have to login every time I open app
Which is annoying
Thanks Anthony
How often are you visiting the App?
For now - before we release an upgrade - perhaps use the website instead, as it has a little more content and is much easier to navigate with.
I also get logged out of the ios app all the time. I tried keeping it running in the background and never force closing it but that has not helped. Going through the login process repeatedly is quite frustrating. I will try uninstalling and reinstalling to see if that helps. I usually use the app at least once daily but occasionally miss a day or two. I dont think frequency of use makes much difference because I have missed a few days and then been surprised to find that I am still logged in and at other times found myself logged out the next day. Daily or 2 daily logouts are the norm.
Thanks
Hey Guys,
I'm often getting logged out of SN on different devices at different times. Usually this wouldn't be a problem but when I'm in an area with dodgy reception and it takes 30 mins to load a page it's pretty bloody annoying to then have to load another two pages before I can finally view the forecast page I want.
Anyway to prevent this??
Also, I remember years ago when you upgraded the site you said you'd have a number of new forecast locations around the world to release. What ever happened to those?
