Zeph, as you're no doubt aware SA has just gone through a rough patch of weather (strong onshore winds) which salts up the camera quite badly.

Our cameras actually clean themselves most times (when it rains) however when we do request a clean from our local contacts, it can't always happen immediately - it's not cost effective to have someone on 24 hour standby just for those salty days where there is no rain. Main reason being is that the day after it's cleaned it'll often salt up again. So we try to wait for breaks in the weather where we know we'll get a longer period of good vision.

For what it's worth, we have been cleaning it regularly of late but the weather patterns have been persistently bad. We are hoping to install an automated cleaning system shortly that'll improve the number of clean days.

Also, our new Middleton cam should be live sometime on Friday (fingers crossed!).

Yep cheers Ben, as soon as those showers came through it cleaned right up.

Radical about the Middleton surfcam, been wondering why the knights cam has been the only cam hosted by swellnet on the South Coast... seems the jurisdiction of fluidzone!

Cheers fella

Thanks Zeph. The Middleton surfcam is in but we've got an issue wit one of the routers.. replacements have been freighted over and hopefully it'll be live at the end of this week.
