Single use plastic in our ocean.
I get your argument mate most of us here don't want plastic in our oceans.
However I'm sure the guys running this site aren't exactly making a shit tonne of money so everything helps.
Especially the measly fees they charge us to use the cams. Do yourself a favour and sign up. It is epic being able to load a cam instantly without ads then let it run as long as you want or watch replays.
*shaka*
We don't actually have anything to do with the ads that are run on the site (aside from the surf industry, our non-endemic ads are sourced through a thirty party). These kinds of ads are created by agencies (on behalf of the clients) who run them across a massive number of channels (TV, digital, print, outdoor) as part of their campaign.
Aside from a standard list of banned categories, it's impossible for us to then create a sub-list of things we don't agree with in principle, and therefore need additional sign off (unless it's a major, Swellnet-specific campaign). We've tried that approach before, and as a publisher you simply get labelled with "too hard to work with" - there are thousands of publishers out there who won't put up any barriers.

Corona flavoured Plastic Waves...[ Closing your Closed Beach ]
I just checked the cam at my favorite spot and there was an add promoting Woolworth's ooshies. Surely we are better than that! Useless pieces of plastic crap that we will be picking up off the beach and out of sea life stomachs for the next 30 years.
