We provide plenty of coverage of the Womens events, but there's not much point (or interest, from our audience) until the Final's been run.

Really….Im not going to lie and say i watch that many women heats, but i try to catch the finals with the better women surfers like Sally, but i didn't even know it was on, nothing here and nothings turned up in my Facebook feed its nice that we get the results but still….I guess the USA time fame doesn't help and not great venue for this one.

I suppose that's the other point, as you mentioned - the time zone's not great for Australian viewers (which is 95% of our audience). And there are more effective platforms for pushing real-time info (like Hey! The Finals are on NOW), such as Facebook. But that only happens just prior to it starting, so because we don't have a US office we're unable to publish this info as it happens.

The other point is that the waves are pretty ordinary for events at Huntington Beach. So, it doesn't make for great viewing. But if they're charging 6-8ft Cloudbreak, then sure, we'll run photos, videos and articles.

ttb, I reckon you missed that time at the dandy markets wave pool when a regular correspondent here thought about taking out a female contestant given what she was wearing. By all accounts the incident was narrowly avoided given the size of the contestant’s male minder

After all the excitement of the Pipe Masters I have to confess I have zero interest in an event held in mushy waves at Huntington right now. Men's or woman's.

tbb was thinking more along the lines of Celebrating Women's Surfing.
Where students could research swellnet library of women's Surfing milestones.

Not my site but but kinda thought such an excellent Surf library deserves respect.

I think when i originally posted this, i hadn't watched womens surfing for a while and was like wow they have upped the level and maybe i didnt have anything else to whinge about so choose this subject or maybe i was just virtue signalling trying to look good and make swell net look bad?...dont know.

Since then to be honest I've barely watched any women surfing i think the last women surfing i watched was Keramas, i only catch the odd few mens heats of each round unless waves are good.
